We are very proud and thankful for all the success of our documentary, “Maribel”. Below is a Timeline of Media Exposure: · September 2004 - "Maribel" was an Official Selection at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. The film played twice and got rave reviews! · April 2005 - Maribel, along with her mother and oldest sister were featured in a segment about PWS on ABC's 20/20. (The film "Maribel" was also highlighted here) · May 2005 – The Insider produced a segment on Maribel. The piece consisted of over 3 minutes of the film along with interviews with Maribel’s mom and sister Mercedes. · August 2005 - CBS news in Phoenix produced a story about PWS and featured "Maribel" clips in their segment. · November 2005 - Maribel's mother and oldest sister Mercedes were highlighted on a segment about PWS on the Dr. Phil Show. Clips from the film "Maribel" were also shown. · December 2005 - Maribel, along with her mother were featured on CNN's Paula Zahn Now show. The film "Maribel" was also highlighted. (This story has been repeated 3 times within a year and a half!) · June 2006 – SiTV’s Not-So-Foreign Filmmakers Showcase featured “Maribel” on an episode that highlighted documentaries. (The film was shown in its entirety) · August 2006 - "Maribel" was an Official Selection at the Nosotros American Latino Film Festival. · December 2006 - Our documentary "Maribel" continues with great success. The film won for BEST DOCUMENTARY at the Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Extravaganza. · December 2006 - Mercedes Rivera was a guest on L.A.'s Ch. 22 KWHY local news program "Conteo Informativo" discussing the documentary and its Best Documentary award! · April 2007 - "Maribel" received an Honorable Mention Cinematic Excellence Award from the 49th Rochester New York international Film Festival. Ju June 2007 - "Maribel" received a nomination from the 22nd Annual Imagen Awards in the Best Documentary for Television or Film category.
